What do I need to measure? -
- 1. Measure the width of your pole/track:
If measuring for a pole, measure the length of the pole between the finals (the decorative ends of the pole).
For tracks, measure the full length (including any returns).
- 2. Measure the desired drop:
Measure from the eye beneath the curtain rings (where the curtain hook will go), except for tab top and eyelet headings where you should start your measurement from the top of the pole.
You need to decide how long you want the curtains. For above the window sill measure to the sill then deduct 1cm* for clearance, for below the sill, add 15cm* and for floor length curtains, measure to the floor then deduct 1cm* for clearance. If instead you want trendy trailing floor curtains, simply add as much fabric as you wish to trail.
*All these allowances are our guide and should be your own personal preference.

Quick Measuring Tips!
Measure to the nearest whole cm
Measure in several places to allow for any irregularities and use the smallest of those measurements
Always use a metal or wooden tape for better accuracy
Always measure the pole or track, not the window
Fabric gather (fullness) is already included in our curtain calculations, so it is the width of your pole/track that you should enter above
Eyelet curtains will have a standard allowance for above the pole
Tab top and eyelet headings are not suitable for curtains tracks.
Get someone else to help by holding one end of the tape
Always use something safe to stand on rather than stretch
